Justice and Righteousness

GC Spivak states that “If one wishes to make   . . .global social justice, one must unmoor it from its elite safe harbors, supported by the power of the dominant nation’s civil polity” In other words, if there is to be “social justice” in poor countries, one must expose the elitist values there. Exposing this value system shows the way to real consciousness-raising. If, say, an organization does not seek Euro-US forms of justice but seeks to set poor countries free from the fetters of “dreaming the American dream,” justice must happen in the particular countries themselves. In my opinion, escaping to the US and fleeing poverty by coming across the ocean or equator only sets those who (im)migrate to a country with no home.   (Im)migration is not the answer to the injustices of the Global South and the East. Redistribution of wealth will not work (besides, good luck on that one).   The real present elites will be holding tight to their funds. As a matter of fact, the redist...

Babylon, Language, Babel

There will be a conference this weekend on a certain campus: “ Biblical Principles in a Woke World .”  Interesting idea for a conference, BUT with this language, one falls into the same trap that “victims” fall into when they are being USED by the Left to try to make people feel guilty.  Everyone should know that there were no racial issues or racial tensions in the church in the US until the Left forced these ideas on the church. When white guys use “woke” to describe cultural phenomena, they take the bait from the elites.  Literature that describes problems as indicative of systemic racism should remind us how a certain group of politicians from the Left, way back in the 50’ and 60’s, ordered a system of Welfare, which served to create more poverty than could be alleviated by many years of reparations.  Woke was three years ago.  The church needs to wake up and realize that our whole country is being destroyed by the Left.  For once, the church needs to b...

in response to Anonymous re: Dying people post

Anonymous, You are correct in saying “these people are all about science” and :”science itself con show no meaning.” You state that there is a darker side to the environmental movement” “using the citizens of the less developed areas of the world as pawns to guilt the developed western nations”    I must stop here and totally agree with you.   I want to note that these Leftist are destroying the idea of nation(s) and ideologies which uphold the pursuit of excellence, as I have said before. Please continue to respond to these posts, you have an important voice.

Dying people, is it alarming to you?

OHCHR works to protect “The human rights framework spells out the responsibilities of duty bearers to rights-holders with respect to all human rights harms, including those caused by environmental degradation ” in order to “Support for the inclusion of civil society in environmental decision-making processes, access to information and effective remedies for victims ” The OHCHR facilitates “ Research and advocacy to address human rights harms caused by environmental degradation, particularly to groups in vulnerable situations ” In this situation there needs to be concrete evidence that there is a relationship between climate change and the death or displacement of people.  The notion that everything is interconnected with all else in the world, even universe (multiverse), is logical. It is a sad day when “Environmental human rights defenders face danger and sometimes even death for their tireless work protecting the environment ”  Let’s face it, one should be able to work on a ...

UN or not

In its section dealing with “climate change and human rights” Analysing Intersections between Climate Change and Human Rights reports compiled by D aniel Uribe Teran and Luis Fernando Rosales establish that “all countries recognise the need to take action” and “ the world will overshoot the 1.5°C threshold in 20 years or less” and “This means more frequent droughts, flooding, heatwaves and other extreme weather effects affecting most regions of the world, particularly the most vulnerable people ”   The fact is that organizations that form committees and councils are not the actual countries themselves which they represent. The world that will overshoot some threshold (measured and monitored and decided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) of 1.5 degrees Celsius is what will cause the earth to be uninhabitable.   If things weigh in the balance, why do not all people in the prominent countries agree on the danger and the Celsius measure given by the IPCC...
