The welfare
state is thought by many to be attributed to FDR and LBJ, but we see how this
idea of the state helping its people.
Gaius Gracchus (and his brothers) took advantage of this idea being used
in the West. Much of our culture is
influenced by the Roman Caesars. From
physics to surgical tools many things we take for granted, were given to us as
hand me downs by the Roman Empire.
Socialists did not invent welfare. Farm aid is not some 1980’s hippy
idea for a reason to have a concert. Gaius
Gracchus gave help to the people buy subsidizing the cost of grain. Some in
Roman times argued that this hurt the economy others argued that this
demonstrated the height of the Empire.
Christianity is often blamed for the hegemonic
entity that is supposed to have been, and blamed for ails and atrocities in the
history of the West. However, Roman
culture laid the groundwork, like the Roman road, for our cultural values. Now,
supposedly, it is thought that our technologies find their origins in Egypt. I know, vague sentence, make of it what you
will. Michel Foucault writes in Technologies
of the Self that our development of personhood makes it through o modern
times by way of confession of sexual sins in the confessional. Foucault was brilliant too bad his hang-up
was sexuality.
But, think of the hang-ups of the current day
Christian apologete. If they are not
stuck on LGBT, giving it so much attention, leads to the perpetuation of the
promotion of the exploitative agenda.
Gay people might think that the Left has them in mind. But the Left has its own power in mind. LGBT is just being exploited and politicized
by the Left. Hey, if you are gay, the
Left does not give a d___ about you. Justice Warriors are telling your story
because they want to be re-elected.
